It was an extraordinary day. A flock of wood storks stopped by for a visit. I don’t see them often, but on occasion, they stop for a crab luncheon as they migrate through the area. Here are a couple of photos. I hope you enjoy.
Critters, critters and more critters…I had trouble picking just one picture for this photo challenge. So I selected three. I think they all convey the theme of motion.
The first is a group of plovers…the wave is crashing the bird is flying…movement everywhere.
The last picture is a shot of a blue heron rising out of the marsh. If you look closely at the bottom right of the photo, you can see the spray of water flowing off its feet.
Last week a flock of white ibises visited my marshy world. They were very agreeable about posing for pictures, so I was able to get quite close and took many photos. I think this shot shows depth pretty well. The birds in front are in focus with the ones in the back blurred.
Crabs and Oysters, oh my. Here’s my two-fer on Textures.
First photo is a shot of the mud burrows of the fiddler crabs. If you look closely on the right side of the picture you can see the crabs at work.
The second photo is a close up of an oyster bed along the river bank.
