Critters, critters and more critters…I had trouble picking just one picture for this photo challenge. So I selected three. I think they all convey the theme of motion.
The first is a group of plovers…the wave is crashing the bird is flying…movement everywhere.
The second photo is a shot of a local coyote. He was moving quickly, likely to get away from the human who was excitedly snapping pictures.
The last picture is a shot of a blue heron rising out of the marsh. If you look closely at the bottom right of the photo, you can see the spray of water flowing off its feet.

Crabs and Oysters, oh my. Here’s my two-fer on Textures.
First photo is a shot of the mud burrows of the fiddler crabs. If you look closely on the right side of the picture you can see the crabs at work.
The second photo is a close up of an oyster bed along the river bank.
The blue heron below seems to be expressing his deep contemplation of the world. His pose emulates Rodin’s “The Thinker. ” Or could it actually be that he is scratching an itch. We’ll never know.

It was early afternoon on Monday. Sunshine was bright and the sky was clear….a perfect day for casting shadows.
This gull was flying very low to the ground. Pretty cool how the wings almost touch the sand.
For a little bird…this guy cast a pretty large shadow.
Around the oyster beds and shells, these two were looking for lunch. I didn’t really notice at the time I was taking the picture, but the shadows do give depth to the photo.
When I looked at this flier, I noticed the stripe across his chest. At first I thought it was just odd coloring, but then I realized that his wing was shading his body.
Hope you like my shadows.

For your viewing pleasure….here are some beachy birds.
Blue Heron on the rooftop. He is perched on one foot with his claw in the middle of his stomach…actually a little creepy, if you look close enough.
Close up of a hawk on the walkway….pooh and all.
It was a drizzly and dreary day. The heron reminds me of the wise man on top of the mountain. Do you think I should have asked him about the meaning of life?
I think these guys are ibis (s). They were the closest pictures in the bird book…..Anybody know for sure please correct me.
I was thirty-eight years old when I received my first pet. I always loved cats, but my Mom wasn’t a big pet lover so we didn’t have any at home. When I was older and on my own, I wasn’t sure I knew enough to be a good pet owner. Well one day on-line talking to a friend, I mentioned, I liked cats and was thinking about getting one. His response was “my daughter is moving to a place that doesn’t allow pets, I can drop them off on Monday.” I became a pet owner. Clyde and Que. Clyde was the outgoing fun-loving mooch of a cat. Que is more of a reserved prima donna. Que is still with us and even serves as my avatar for Tybee Tabby. Clyde was the inspiration for my first post on WordPress. Unfortunately, Clyde passed a little over two years ago. Gone but not forgotten. Dang, I miss the little guy.

Four very different options on angular.
The first is a picture of an angular walkway with a blue heron perched on the rail.
The second is piece of bamboo laying at an angle next to a butterfly.
The third is a fishing boat with all kinds of angles for the masts and lines.
The final is a barge being pulled by a tug on the Savannah River. The dredge creates a nice 45 degree angle.
Please let me which one you think is the most representative of the word “angular” and this challenge.
Heron in flight against an overcast sky. My version of minimalism.
Today is a beautiful day on Tybee. The breeze is cool, the sky is a vivid blue and the sun is shining for the first time in days. Best of all the herons, seagulls and miscellaneous other birds are about. I wandered with camera. Here are a couple of my favorites from this morning.
Doesn’t this heron seems to be saying, “You dare to approach the Queen!!!” ?
Not the most elegant bird on the ground, but actually pretty impressive in flight. Say hi to the turkey vulture.
Although I took this one the other morning. This gull was so gracious about posing, he made the cut.
