Careful of the CannonBalls

Here is a shot of Fort Pulaski in Georgia.  This is the side of the fort that sustained the heaviest cannon fire from the Union Troops.  This damage was ultimately the reason that the fort surrendered during the Civil War.  For me not having experienced war, it is hard to imagine the “danger” that soldiers on both sides experience.  But seeing the pockmarks in a brick structure, makes it more real.

Anyone visiting the Savannah area, Fort Pulaski is truly a worthy side trip.  I hope you can come and see us.
