Photo Challenge: Something Broken

Here are two photos for the “broken” theme.  Both are broken pieces of wood that have floated down river.  The first is a broken branch with a blue heron perched in it.

The second is a log that drifted up on the beach….I though the texture of the broken part of the wood was interesting.
